We had the opportunity to spend some time learning from Tall Cop, a police officer
who has dedicated his professional life to sharing information about recreational drug use.
He opened our eyes to the reality of drug use amongst our teens. If you teach health, work
with teens, have your own children- take some time to catch up on what is happening out
there! Tall Cop

Physical Activity

BOKS Burst 3: Jump Rope Burst

Directions:
  1. Have the children pretend to jump rope
  2. Ask the children questions such as: "Do you have a sister?", "Are you wearing black socks?", "Did you have breakfast this morning?", "Do you have a pet at home?", "Is your hair brown?"
  3. If the child answers YES, they can stop pretending to jump rope and perform 10 jumping jacks
  4. If the child answers NO to the question, they continue "jumping rope"
  5. Repeat for allotted time.
Variation: Rotate around the room and have the children ask questions

  6. Thank you for including Kim Bevill's list of classes in the blog. I have attended a number of her presentations, over the years, most recently "Effects of Laughter on the Brain"--it was very informative...and we laughed a lot! She is so knowledgeable and has a fantastic sense of humor :-)
